DSHS Safety and Orientation Training (2025)

The DSHS Safety and Orientation Training provides new caregivers with essential introductory and safety skills required by Washington State. Delivered through interactive video software, the training tracks engagement and includes embedded quizzes to support learning retention. Students receive personalized feedback based on their performance. The program includes 2 hours of Orientation and 3 hours of Safety Training.

DSHS Safety and Orientation Training
Washington Care Academy is one of only 2 other programs approved by DSHS to provide online interactive DSHS Safety and Orientation Training.
We utilize a video software that is interactive and tracks analytics. Our video training is tracked on student engagement and is personalized for every student. We are able to measure learning retention in understanding how well students grasp materials with embedded quizzes. We are able to engage in a one on one learning outcome based on each video training feedback.
This training includes:
  • Orientation Training: 2 hours of introductory information orienting new workers to the care setting and job.
  • Safety Training: 3 hours of introductory information on safety practices.
