This is the DSHS-approved Dementia Level 1 Specialty Training. It is a live, interactive class on Zoom with a Washington Care Academy instructor. You join from home, ask questions in real time, and take your exam the same day.

How it works
- Choose your Tuesday and enroll. You pay $115 securely by card and your seat is reserved right away.
- Check your course page before class. Your Zoom link, meeting ID, passcode, and workbook are there.
- Join the class. On class day, open your course page and click to join. Class runs 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM Pacific.
- Take the exam and get your certificate.
Your certificate
When you pass, you receive a DSHS-approved 8-hour Dementia Level 1 Specialty certificate. You can use it to meet job requirements for assisted living facilities, adult family homes, or home care agencies, and it counts toward your population-specific training hours.

- Do I need a Zoom account? No. The link in your course page works right in your browser.
- What if I cannot make my class date? No problem. Just choose a new Tuesday here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfrhscPu94mpoKahnXfhGPy8ida2lSnbtpQ1yhTltOGyLJB1A/viewform and you will be moved automatically.
- What if I do not pass the exam? We will schedule a retest for you within 30 days.
- Is the class really live? Yes. An instructor teaches in real time and you can ask questions during the class.
