Start with self-paced lessons you can take from anywhere. Work through core concepts, watch demos, and complete required knowledge checks. Come to the lab prepared, with a clear understanding of the steps, safety points, and common errors to avoid.

2) Attend the Tacoma skills lab

Join a focused, two-day in-person lab in Tacoma to practice hands-on skills with instructor support. You will run through guided stations, get real-time feedback, and repeat each skill until your technique is consistent and test-ready.

3) Take certification testing

After you finish the coursework and lab, schedule your certification testing with the State.
