The DSHS Dementia Level One training is broken down into specific core modules:
Dementia Specialty Training (Level 1) is a mandatory 8-hour standardized curriculum. It is required for long-term care workers, adult family home providers, and assisted living staff who provide direct care to individuals living with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia.

Course Hours: 8 hours of total instructional time.
Testing Requirement:
To receive the official DSHS certificate, students must pass a standardized, closed-book final exam with a minimum score of 80%.
CEUs:
This course counts as 8 hours toward the annual DSHS Continuing Education (CE) requirement for certified Home Care Aides (HCAs).
